My Dad's Birthday is today!

My Dad's birthday is today and he still manages to play hockey 3 times a week. Good for him!!
This is my card that I gave him last week. The base card is Early Expresso with Basic Grey 'Cappella' on the top half and green Fibermark paper on bottom. There is 2" strip and 1/4" circle that is from the  Basic Grey 'Cappella' collection. I took Always Artichoke paper and stamp using a Birthday background stamp that retired from Stampin'Up. Inked with Top Boss and used the new perfect pearl collection called 'Cafe'. Wrapped a green ribbon from Michael's around the strip and layered the dark green paper on top. Stamp Happy Birthday in green pigment ink and embossed with Emerald PearLustre Embossing powder from Stampendous. Used Always Artichoke to tone down the white cardstock. Punched out 2 scallop ovals from Marvy Uchida scalloped oval. Cut 1 oval lengthwise and 1 oval widthwise to create a mat around the Happy Birthday.

Supplies Used:
Paper: Early Expresso, Shimmery White, and Always Artichoke from Stampin'Up

           Green paper from Fibermark

Sister's Birthday Card

Here is my sister's card her birthday was November 4th. Anyways I started out with a 5 3/4 square metallic pink cardstock, layered with Bo Bunny Plum Dot paper then added another layer with Basic Grey 'Eva'.
I used the stamp from The Stamp Barn using Memento Black ink and colored image using my Copic markers. I cut it out leaving a halo around it. I wrapped ribbon around the 2 corners before attaching to the pink cardstock. I stamped Birthday wishes in pigment ink and use iridescent ice to add some bling. I cut 2 flourishes out from Sizzix with Be Creative tape adhered to chipboard then covered the chipboard with a pink glitter and light green glitter. Punched out saying using Decorative label punch. To create the mat I punch out 2 labels using the decorative label punch. Cutting 1 lengthwise and 1 widthwise and place it around my label. Applied 2 basic pearls to the label.

My Brother's Birthday Card

Last Sunday my mother had us all over for big Birthday dinner. Our family use to have 4 birthdays before Christmas and then my mother's was in January but sadly we only have 3 now. So instead of having 3 separate parties my mother has 1 big bash (less wear and tear on my mom). On this occasion my nephew Zachary was being comfirmed so he was included this time. So this was my card for my brother who was born 2 weeks before Christmas. Kind of simple for me but I was doing 3 cards for this big occasion. I left making cards to the last minute.  It started out using brown cardstock layered with light green and then using a darker green. On the darker green cardstock I used a stamp called Brocade Basics which is retired from Stampin'Up. I inked the stamp with Silk Green pigment ink and then embossed it using Stampendous Aventurine PearLustre Embossing Powder. Then I used another stamp called Sense of Time from Stampin'Up and embossed it twice the same way as the background. I cut out the little circle and popped it up using dimentionals. I also took a dauber using Always Artichoke inkpad and toned down the image so it wasn't too stark. Attached a green ruffle ribbon from Michael's along the bottom. Inside I stamped Happy Birthday using another stamp from Paper Inspirations using Silk Green pigment ink pad and embossed using the Aventurine PearLustre EP.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Early Expresso from Stampin'Up
                  Light green paper from Fibermark
Ink:  Always Artichoke from Stampin'Up
Silk Green Pigment ink from Clearsnap

Stamps: Brocade Basics - retired , Sense of Time  from Stampin'Up
               Happy Brithday from Paper Inspirations
Ribbon: Michael's

My Nephew's Confirmation

My nephew Zachary was confirmed on my late husband's birthday. Of course I could not find any Confirmation cards so I made my own (but who needs cards anyway when you make your own). I started out with brown cardstock, green Fibermark paper that I found in my stash plus Basic Grey 'Capella' paper. Used a ruffle green ribbon that I found at Michael's that covers where the 2 different papers meet. The crosses are from Spellbinder's Cross Collection Limited Edition. The largest one is cut out with Shimmery white cardstock. I left it in the stencil and added Clearsnap Olive Pastel fluid chalk to ink the raised areas. Then cut out the 2nd cross using another Basic Grey 'Capella' paper adding to the first by using dimensionals. Found the sayings on line and printed them off the computer on to Shimmery White cardstock. Then added a mat around the white cardstock.

Supplies used:
Cardstock: Shimmery  White, Early Expresso from Stampin 'Up
                  Green Paper  from Fibermark
                  Capella from Basic Grey
Ink: Olive Green Fluid Chalk from Clearsnap
Ribbon: Michael's
Others:   Spellbinder Cross Collection, Stampin'Up dimentionals

Merry Christmas

Here is my rendition. I used Night of Navy cardstock as a base, followed by Cajun Craze. I used Blue Awning Zinnia Swirl paper from K & Company. Placed Clearsnap Design adhesive leaves over the K & Company then used a rust glitter from In The Making Enterprises to cover the adhesive. I used "Christmas Ornaments" by Justrite stamps. I stamped ornaments with gold pigment inkpad and embossed with Stampin'Up Glory Gold embossing powder. I cut out the ornaments leaving a little halo and attached them to Night of Navy cardstock again cutting it out leaving a little halo. Punch a little hole at the top of the ornament an attached copper peel offs by Magenta. At the top of the ornament is a bow that used copper cording that retired from Stampin'Up. Stamped word from "Christmas Nested Frames" from JustRite Stampers using gold pigment ink and embossed with gold EP on Night of Navy cardstock. Punched word out using large oval from Stampin'Up and punched a frame out using an EK success punch using Cajun Craze cardstock. On the left side I used Victorian Crochet trim from Stampin'Up and overlayed a gold trim from Michael's in my ribbon stash.

JustRite Friday Challenge

I'm trying my hand at different card challenges that are present over the Internet. We had to use the following color combo.

Blue Poinsettia card

Here is a card that I submitted to Flourishes design challenge in corresponding to their new release happening tonight. They have 3 new stamps being released. The challenge was called "Warm Winter Wishes and the card had to have some  blue. I used a metallic blue cardstock for base, 2nd layer added burnish gold from Stampin'Up. Cut a 3" X 3 3/4" Blue Awning Blue Damask paper by K& Company and another 3" X 3 3/4" Blue Awning Blue Floral embossed paper from K & Company. I layered both pieces over the gold paper. Wrap a piece of ribbon from Michael's to cover the joint between 2 papers and tied a faux bow. Using the Poinsetia stamp from the Flourishes set (Poinsettia & Boxwood) I stamped the poinsettia plus the single petals  in Black Memento ink and colored with Copic markers B21,B24, B28. I then popped some of the single petals using pop up dots to add dimention.I added blue glass glitter from Melissa Frances to the petals of the poinsettia. I also add Clearsnap design adhesive "Brocade" by burnishing it onto the cardstock and used "Canadian Blue" and a lighter "Western Blue" glitter from In the Making Enterprises.  Stamp saying in Black Versafine and punch it out with a scallop oval from Stampin'Up and used another label punch from EK success to punch out a piece of blue/gold paper. Add blue glass glitter around scallop. Add 3 pearls to right hand corner.
What do you think?

2nd card for Gina K release

Here is the 2nd card that I made for Gina K release party. We had to make a holiday card using non-traditional colors. I used a Gina K stamp called "Festive Frame". I used Copic markers BV01, BV02, BV04 and BV25 to color the poinsettias. BV29 to color the frame and YG06 to color the circle part of the frame. I also used YR04, YR07 and YR09 for the orange part of the frame and berries as well as YG05, YG06 and YG03 for the greenery. I used Stampin'up Markers Crumb Cake, Early Expresso for the pine cones. Used retired ribbon and pearls from Stampin'up. For the centers of the poinsettias I used Zip dry glue and blue glass glitter by Melissa Frances. The sentiment is from the same set and I used Versfine Onyx Black ink. Thanks for looking. For this release party, every challenge you enter using her stamps you received an extra ballot for a drawing of a free stamp set valued at $24.95.

New card

Last Friday Gina K had a new release party. She had 3 design challenges. This was # 1 challenge; you had to use an odd number of a design element on your card.
Here I stamped 3 pine branches as my design element. The pine branch came from a set called Winter Foliage from Gina K. This was a free set last year when you bought 3 or more sets. The "winter wishes" is from a company called Unity stamp co. that was free with a magazine that I bought at Safeway because it had a free stamp. Imagine that.. more stamps.. The paper was from Stampin'Up along with ribbon and pearls. The 2 die cuts from Spellbinders Label 13 and fancy tags. I used Kiwi smooch to outline the label 13 die and Molasses to outline the tag die. I used a 2 way glue pen to glue and then add blue highlights glitter on the pine branches.
