Make a creation that is Red, White and Blue. Festive colors for July however they seem to a great fit for Christmas also. Here is my second card, I again started off with blue metallic paper then I layered red metallic paper. Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD39)

The assignment is to use Our Daily Bread Design stamps.  The challenge this rotation is to use something recycled on your cards or projects!
Here is my take on the challenge, my card uses an Christmas tag from a couple of Christmases ago that my Aunt Shirley used on a Xmas present for my son. I like the tag so much that I kept it around thinking I could use it someday. Well here it is! I used Shimmery White paper for a base and took a light gold metallic paper and ran it thru a Cuttlebug folder called 'Holly Ribbons'. Then I ran another piece of light gold metallic paper thru a Cuttlebug folder called 'Scrollwork'. I applied Champagne Mist shimmery paint by Stampin'Up to the embossed frame. After embossing the paper I cut out the middle so I could frame the Poinsettia. I cut out a mat a little larger using light green metallic cardstock again cutting out the middle to leave a halo around the embossed frame. I stamped Poinsettia image from the set called 'His Gift' by Our Daily Bread Designs using Black Memento ink on X-Press Blended it paper by Copic. I colored the Poinsettia by using the following Copic markers; R24, R27, R29, R59 and R89. I added yellow stickles by Ranger for the middle. I attached this to the frame. I cut out the banner using Tim Holtz Tattered Banners and stamped saying from the set called 'Ornaments' by Our Daily Bread Designs on gold metallic paper. I placed the recycled Christmas Tag in the right hand corner.

My first card that made publication!

I belong to a group called PMS which acronym stands for Pretty Mean Stampers and we meet once a month from September to June. Every month Sandra (our submission coach) tells us what magazine we are submitting to and what the challenge is. I think this was last October's challenge. We were submitting to The Stampers' sampler for a contest called Crazy for Chartreuse. Where the theme was to make a card using the color Chartreuse. Here is my card that I sent into The Stampers' sampler for the challenge. I don't think it made the publication for that challenge but it made this publication for the Catch Up Issue. Which is an issue that comes out in the spring for cards that are lovely but don't make it in the other publications. By the way, 4 other girls made the publication from our group! Pretty good I say. Don't look at the instructions cause I think they edited my instructions. Anyways I really happy for one of my goals this year was to start a blog and  have one of my cards published. So here it is!!!!!

June is Color Me Crazy Challenge at Petalo

Luminarte and Petaloo partnered up for their Color Me Crazy Challenge!

So I entered this layout of my son, Cameron using Luminarte Radiant Rain mists and Radiant Rain Color Concentrate daubers plus all the flowers used in this layout are from Petaloo. The background paper is a technique that I have learned from Cathie Allan which is my absolutely favorite way to color my backgrounds with. I started off with using 130 lb super white cardstock. I used the Magenta Flower #C40239 stamp over the white paper using Lime Pastel Fluid Chalk from Clearsnap, I stamp in one general  location (may wander a bit) until there is no more ink on the stamp. I do this in odd numbers 3 or 5. Then I wand in same color using my white foam tips from Clearsnap to add some more color. Then I use the same stamp but use a different color such as Blue Lagoon Fluid Chalk shown here. I do the same technique until I have no more white paper. Then I take a background stamp( I used a Magenta bird scroll #C0577-P) and over stamp on my color paper using White Frost Pigment ink from Clearsnap. I heat set with a hot iron. I then took my Magenta Flower Frenzy TCW 157S stencil laid it on my background paper and spritz it with Luminarte Radiant Rain Sky Blue Shimmering mist and Key Lime Shimmering mist.I did this with the paper doily using those same sprays. Then I heat set it with a hot iron. I then took another piece of white paper and again colored it with the same principle as before. This time I stamped a Daisy Corner from Magenta #C09243-P using Ancient Page from Clearsnap (which is waterproof) I colored in the Daisies with a paint brush using the Luminarte Radiant Rain Sky Blue Shimmering mist and Key Lime Shimmering mist. Then I took a white foam tip and pounced using Alabaster Fluid Chalk over image to subdue it (another class from Cathie Allan). Then I used black pigment ink to stamp in between the images using the same Daisy stamp and embossed using detail black embossing powder. Again I colored in the Daisies with a paint brush using the Luminarte Radiant Rain Sky Blue Shimmering mist and Key Lime Shimmering mist. I then cut them out leaving a little halo around the image. I stamped the journal stamp from Magenta # C22056-O on the same paper using black pigment ink and embossing with black EP. I colored the flowers from Petaloo using the same colors but I diluting them with water so they wouldn't be so intense. Then I ran the flowers thru a Cuttlebug folder called Victorian. I had some Bashful Blue corduroy buttons from Stampin'Up that I colored with Teal Zircon Radiant Rain Color Concentrate dauber and used some Kiwi Kiss as well.
I matted my photo onto Royal Blue glitter paper which was layered on to a Light Blue glitter paper cut out by Spellbinder's Grand Label One. I use Chartreuse glitter paper to cut out all the Flourishes  from Sizzix Decorative Accents #7, Corner Flourish and 12" border Flourish by Quickutz. I added Rhinestones and colored pearls from E line Self-Adhesive pearls and crystals on flower centers. Added a 3/8" satin Kiwi Kiss bow as shown. The stickers came from the line called "Vita Bella by Little Yellow Bicycle.
