Whimsy Card Challenge - Make A Christmas Card using Traditional Xmas Colours

Well it's Wednesday morning, time for a new challenge at Whimsy Digital Stamps and my first official blog post with Whimsy. I'm so excited to be on the team using their beautiful images. Anyways this week's challenge is to make a Christmas card using Traditional Colours red & green. I used the Christmas Tree by Lia Stampz and colored the tree using Prismacolor Pencils. So here is my card I used Always Artichoke for my base which is a 5"x 7" finished card size. I used the Sharon Ann Christmas Magic collection by The Little Yellow Bicycle for the rest. For the first layer I used the striped paper followed by a layer of gold paper by Stampin'Up. For the third layer I used Vines Varnished followed by Medallion Foil that I used a Spellbinders die called 'Botanical Swirls' to cut out the pattern. I then used a paper doily and sprayed it with Rangers Perfect Mist using Heirloom Gold and Kiwi. I then ran red metallic paper thru a Sizzix folder called 'Loving Thoughts'. I then cut out an oval using Spellbinders 'Lacey Ovals' using gold paper and running it thru a Stampin'Up embossing folder called 'Square Lattice'. I sponged some Warm Red Fluid Chalk around it. I added a red satin ribbon and bow by May Arts around  the bottom of the tree. I also printed out the sentiment by Whimsy Stamps called 'Trimming the Tree Sentiments' and sponged Olive Pastel and Warm Red Fluid Chalk to tone down the white. I used the decorative label punch to punch the mat out using green paper.
