Loves Rubberstamps Design Day

I'm back with another card for Loves Rubberstamps which in the store, features some new stamps from JustRite that Laura has brought in and should be up on the site fairly soon. A month ago I asked Laura if she would bring in diferent stamp companies like JustRite, so she asked for a list of the stamps I owned and OMG I didn't realize how many stamps I had. So here is my first card using one of the newest release from JustRite called "Christmas Vintage Labels One" and "Snowfall Background". I started off with using Metallic Silver for my base which is a 5"x 7" finished card size. I then used S.E.I collection called 'Silver Valley' for the rest of my papers. For the first layer I used a dark navy paper and then ran it thru a Spellbinder's E-Bossabilities called 'Holiday Magic', I used side A. I then used my Brilliance ink pad called Moonlight White to the embossed areas of the paper. I then added one more layer of paper from the same collection before adding the background which I made  using the Snowflake background stamp with white pigment ink and embossed using white EP. I ran blue iris over it make some of the snowflakes show up (quite hard to see). I stamped 3 times using a Vintage label from the Christmas Vintage Labels 1 using white crafters ink and embossed using silver EP for one and using Lullaby Blue EP for the other 2. I coloured the labels using Lindy's Gang Magicals in the following colours 'Afternoon Delight Denim' and 'Tiffany's Blue'. I cut out different parts of the label and attached them using foam dots. I stamped "Winter Wonderland" using white crafter's ink onto white stripe lustre paper and embossed using deep blue EP. I punched it out using Stampin'Up scalloped oval. I cut the snowflake using various papers from the 'Silver Valley' collection and using Spellbinders 'Create A Snowflake' die. I added some blue ribbon by Michael's.

Loves Rubberstamps Card Challenge - Make Your Own Background Paper!

I'm back again with another card challenge for Loves Rubberstamps. This week's challenge is to make your own background paper. This technique was taught to me by Cathie Allan and it's my all time favorite  way to make background paper. I started off using 100 lb white paper, I used this butterfly stamp with Tangerine Fluid Chalk and stamped in groups of 3 or 5 until this is no more ink left on your stamp (you may migrate a little but you generally stay in one place). Continue using the butterfly stamp with the other 2 colours using Aquamarine and then Chestnut Roan until there is no more white paper. Then taking your white foam tips and stylus that Clearsnap makes you wand in the 3 colors in areas where the color was used. Or you can used daubers or Tim Holtz's blending tool as well. Then you take a background stamp (here I used Flourishes Reversed Damask) ink the stamp up with white ink and stamp it on your colored background paper. Then take a hot iron with no steam and heat set your colored paper to set the ink (this what your background paper should look like).  I started off using bronze metallic paper which is a 5"x 7" finished card size. I used Bo Bunny's 'Gabrielle' collection for the rest of my papers. I added 3 layers before using my colored background paper that I made. I stamped the butterfly from the set called "Butterfly Sympathy" by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps onto my handmade background paper using white pigment ink and embossed using detail black EP. I then colored the butterfly using Tim Holtz distress markers. I also stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Rich Cocoa Memento ink onto Bo Bunny Gabrielle 'Unwritten' paper. I also stamped 'With Sympathy' using Black Memento ink onto gold paper and cut this out using a scallop punch. I added some brown crochet ribbon by May Art and made a bow using Chocolate Chip satin ribbon by Stampin 'Up. I added some basic pearl around the frame as shown.

Loves Rubberstamps Design Day / The Any Which Way Challenge!- FLLCSEPT12

The countdown has officially begun for next week’s big reveal of our Christmas stamp set release! Yes folks, we are releasing our Christmas collection a whole month earlier than we normally do! As we usually do, we love to issue a Release Week Challenge a few days beforehand to give you a chance to win our entire release. Our September release is extra special because we are sharing not one, not two, not three, not four but FIVE new stamp sets! What fun, right? HOW TO PLAY: This challenge is going to be super duper easy peasy. Why? All you need to do is use the sketch above — any which way! Flip it on its side, flip it upside down, it doesn’t matter!

So here is my card for this challenge which also my Saturday inspiration card for Loves Rubberstamps. I started off using Cherry Cobbler paper for my base which is a 5"x 7" finished card size. For the rest of my papers I used Wassail by Basic Grey. I stamped the Poinsettia from the set called Poinsettia & Boxwood by Flourishes using black crafter's ink. I colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils. I added gold glass glitter by Stampendous using Tombow mono multi glue. I added some Always Artichoke & Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon. I stamped "Believe" from the set called Santa - I Believe by Flourishes using black crafter's ink and gold embossing powder onto 'Laurel Leaves' from Basic Grey 'Wassail' collection. I cut this out using Spellbinders Page Maps called 'Label & Tags'.

Stamping Dragon Designs - Theme Teddy Bears

This week's challenge at Stamping Dragon Designs is a Teddy Bear Theme. So here is my card, I started off using Bronze metallic paper for my base which is 5"x 7" finished card size. For the rest of my papers I used "Lost & Found Two Blush 'Princess' for the first layer. I used Madison Avenue 'Sisters" Lace paper and 'Sisters' Boutique Glitter paper to make a frame. I cut the first pink paper out using Spellbinders 'Lacey Ovals' and brown glitter paper was cut out using 'Floral Ovals'. I added some pink/brown ribbon by May Arts as shown. I printed the Teddy with a Heart onto shimmery white paper and coloured him using Copic Markers. I then used this technique to make his fur appear fluffy. I took an old towel, bunched it up because you are working with a small area at a time. Spritz the towel with Copic Blending Solution and each time you applied the towel to the bear use a different portion of the towel. For the heart I used a background stamp called 'En Francais' by Stampin'Up and spritz it with Copic Blending Solution and did the same thing. You don't need a lot of Blending Solution to achieve this look, less is better otherwise it bleeds as seen in the heart. I added some Prima Flowers 'Candy Apples' as shown.

This week's challenge at Digi Darla's is "Sympathy / Thinking Of You".
So here is my card, I used peach Bazzill paper which is a 6" square card size. I used "Lady's Diary" by Graphic 45 for the rest of my papers. I printed the sentiment by Digi Darla's onto shimmery white paper and cut this out using Spellbinders 'Ribbon Tags, then sponged Rose Coral and French Blue Fluid Chalk along the edges. I added some light blue candi brads. Then added some lace on the side and added some light cream pleated ribbon on top and finished off using light blue grosgrain ribbon.

Loves Rubberstamps Card Challenge - Anything Goes

Today is the first day of school, Yah!!! Finally some routine again. Well I'm back with another card for this week's challenge at Loves Rubberstamps which is "Anything Goes". So here is my card, I started off using Early Espresso for my base which is 5"X 7" finished card size. I dug out some old Bo Bunny paper which is one my favourites called 'Indian Summer'. I love those colours, bold and bright for fall. I stamped the girl called 'Dandelion Girl' by Sylvia Zet for Wee Stamps by Whimsy Stamps. I coloured the girl using Prismacolor pencils and cut her out using Spellbinders 'Label 20'. I sponged Tangerine Fluid Chalk along the edges and then outline the edge using Smooch ink called 'Sundance' by Clearsnap. I cut out the mat using another Spellbinders die called 'Label 10' and brown glitter paper. I added some copper netting by May Arts in the left hand top corner along with a brown double bow. I cut out various leaves using Spellbinders 'Fall Foliage' using various papers from Bo Bunny and brown glitter paper. Some of the leaves were popped up using pop up dots. I add a chipboard saying 'Growing like a Weed' from the same collection Indian Summer.

Loves Rubberstamps - Design Day

It's the long weekend before my son finishes off his last year of high school starting on Tuesday. So here is my card which I almost forgot to post because I'm cleaning out my craft room.
It's a fairly simple card for me because the inspiration wasn't coming to me. Anyways I stamped the angel from the set called "Peace on Earth" by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps using memento ink onto shimmery white paper and colored her using Prismacolor pencils. I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the wings using a 2 way glue pen.
I started off using Always Artichoke for the base which is a 5"x 7" finished card size. I used Sharon Ann's Christmas Magic Collection by The Little Yellow Bicycle for the rest of my papers. I also used the Clear Cuts frames & titles - glitter "Hanging Ornaments" from the same collection by cutting out the 2 sides instead of 4 sides. I used the Red Foiled Thickers Flourishes by American Crafts for the top. I used the journaling tags from the same collection and added some red pearls for accents.
