I started off using Certainly Celery paper for my base which is a 5"x 7" finished card size. I used an old Nursery Rhyme Scrap kit by K & C Company for the rest of my papers. I then cut out 2 large corner pieces using a Spellbinder die that you can only get by ordering Amazing Grace kit by Becca Feeken using green paper from the collection. I laid this down and on top of that laid down a large oval frame that I cut out using  green with blue border paper using Memory Box die called 'Cherise Label'. Then I cut out another frame using pink paper and another Memory box die called 'Tiffany Frame' and laid this on top of the other oval frame. I then laid down Jiggy in Crib on top of the oval frame using foam dots. I cut out 2 smaller corners by Spellbinder die from the same kit that I ordered using yellow dot paper. I sponge on the following colors; yellow, blue and green. I attached the 2 smaller corners by using foam dots as shown. I added some yellow and blue seam binding in the opposite corners. I added a bow using the same colors as shown. I cut a frame using Spellbinders 'Framed One' using green paper and added a sticker as shown. I'm back with another card for Whimsy Digital Stamps Part 2, our team decided to have mid blog reminder, because we have a big group. So this is still part of the Nov 7 challenge of making a Christmas card using Traditional colors,- okay I decided brown and blue were traditional colors. This time of the year is really busy time for my family we have 5 birthdays before Christmas and 1 right after. Normally my mother has one big party for everyone and that way she's not having party after party.  I decided to get  my Dad's Birthday card whose birthday is in a couple of weeks done now. I saw this stamp set back in September at a craft show here in Edmonton and knew this was for him. Every fall my Dad goes hunting for either geese or ducks with all of his hunting gear in a little trailer. Most of the time he gets rid of the ducks & geese because no one eats them.
Anyways here is my card, I started off using bronze metallic paper for the base which is a 5"x 7" finished card size. I used S.E. I. paper collection called 'Homestead' for the rest. I used the stamp set called 'Oh Duck' by Sheena Douglass and you can find it here:

I stamped 'Happy Birthday' using Whimsy Stamps set called 'Celebration Mini Tickets' using black pigment ink and embossed using blue and green embossing powder by Clearsnap. You can find this stamp here; http://www.lovesrubberstamps.net/category_146/Raindrop-Echo-Designs-Sentiments-Collection.htm

Loves Rubberstamps Card Challenge - Anything Goes!

Well I'm back with another card for Loves Rubberstamps Card Challenge. This week's challenge is Anything Goes, my favorite! Next Sunday is Remembrance Day so I'm dedicating my card to all those who served in War or those are still serving for their Countries so that we can all live in peace. Last April I was reminded of what our soldiers sacrificed as my son and I was a part of the 95th Anniversary of Vimy Ridge along with his school, what an experience I will never forget.
So here is my card I started off using black metallic paper for my base which is a 5"x 7" finished card size. I used Bo Bunny's collection called 'Serenade' for the rest, which I thought fit perfectly with my image choice. Laura does carry some Bo Bunny papers which you can find here;
http://www.lovesrubberstamps.net/category_320/Bo-Bunny.htm  And Laura is happy to bring in anything that you would like so just send her an email. Anyways I used a Magenta stamp called Poppies (42.092.O) which is a Canadian company. Laura does carry Magenta stamps which you can find here; http://www.lovesrubberstamps.net/category_108/Magenta.htm
So I stamped my Poppies 3 times using Black Memento ink (which Laura does carry) and then I colored the images with Copic Markers with the exception of the black poppy I used Tim Holtz distress marker 'Black Soot' instead. I began to lay 1 Poppy on top of another using pop up dots. I added a piece of green chipboard flourish from the same Bo Bunny collection which gave me a starting point to add my poppies as shown. I added some red satin ribbon by May Arts over the flowers and flourish. I printed out 'In Flanders Fields', 'In Remembrance' onto shimmery white paper and cut them out using Creatable Dies called 'Anja's Label Set'.

DDC # 36 - Gift Card Holder

I'm back with another card for Digi Darla's and this week's challenge is to make a gift card holder. I've had this Sizzix die called 'Gift Card Holder with Phrase' for awhile but have never used it until now.

Here is a picture of the inside with the credit card as a gift card. The base of this card is the standard A2 size (4/14"x 5 1/2") which is the smallest size for the insert to fit. I used Early Espresso for the base and used Bo Bunny 'Noel' for the rest. I cut an ornament out using Serendipity Stamps Ornament die using red metallic paper and placed it on double sided adhesive sheet. I added some Harvest Gold, Light Gold and Burgundy glitter to add some bling. I printed out the Snowman with Tree a Digi Darla's image using shimmery white paper and colored him using Prismacolor pencils. I stamped a sentiment from Warm Winter Wishes by Flourishes using black crafter's ink and embossed using black embossing powder. I added some gold ribbon & bow that I found at Michael's in the top right hand corner.I added a label in the inside for a handwritten note by My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Collection.

So here is my card, I started out using Early Espresso for my base which is a 5"X 7"finished card size. I used the following collection called Lost & Found Christmas by My Mind's Eye for the rest. I cut the wreath twice by using Impression Obsession die called 'Fall Wreath' using Early Espresso and Light brown paper. I then cut out little holly leaves by using the same die and using Holly Jolly green paper by My Mind's Eye. I then cut out the berries using 1/4"hole punch and adding some red glitter to them. I also add some gold glitter to the holly leaves in both the wreath and the cardinal image. I used the Christmas Cardinal by Kathryn Stamp Art Design and colored the cardinal using Prismacolor pencils. I then cut out a gold glitter flourish by using Memory Box die called 'La Rue Flourish'. I used the sentiment by Whimsy Stamps called 'Season's Greetings' and sponged Olive Pastel, Warm Red and Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk  to tone down the white paper.
