An Inspirational Post for Whimsy Stamps

I'm back with another inspirational post for Whimsy Stamps. I recently went little wild shopping spree with all the new Karen Burniston pop up dies that just recently showed up in Canada. Karen recently came out with a video showing how to use the  Label Window Pop 'n Cuts Insert and how to make the card wider than 5 1/2" using the 658378 Pop 'n Cuts Square Base w/Decorative Edge
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tGKFaM6n-dU
I decided to see if you could do it with the other base using 657802 Pop 'n Cuts A2 Base w/Circle Label (SB). I followed Karen's directions and came up with this version. I started off using Island Mist Double Dot paper from Bo Bunny which this card is now 4 1/4" X 6 3/4" finished size. I then used Kaisercraft collection called 'Enchanted Garden' for the rest. So using the Label Window Pop 'N Cuts Insert using the 'Scrapbook Paper Charm' paper, I cut out the label as per Karen's instruction and then adhered it to the base. Then I started adding layers to my card,  cutting out a strip of paper using the 'Glitter Specialty Fairies' using the Bigz Edge & Scroll die by Sizzix which  fits under the label on the left hand side. I then tried to cut out 2 more layers (not a great job) using the same paper collection because I like layers on my card, (Karen I need a die that will do this for me). I then used paper called 'Scrapbook Paper Rapture' which I cut out the Fairy Princess sentiment which was cut out using Postage Scissors. I used the digital image by Kathryn Stamp Art Designs called 'Jem' and colored her using Prismacolor pencils and added some glitter to flower in her hair and her shoes. I added some Moonrise Glitter Tinsel by Sparkle N Sprinkle to her wings. I also added some glitter tape and pink ribbon as shown. I then added another label by cutting it out using the Sizzix die called Butterflies & Label using green paper from the same collection. I then used the sentiment from Gratitude Sentiments and placed it on the Ticketed Oval Vines Blank all by Whimsy Stamps. I then colored it using some Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals using a pink & green. I cut out 2 butterflies from the paper called 'Glitter Specialty Fly'.

Here is a picture of the inside where I just added more papers from the same collection and a sticker from the sticker sheet. I also cut out another butterfly and placed him on the second label.

JustRite Friday Challenge #100 - "Delicate Doilies"

JustRite is having their 100th Card Challenge and this week's theme is to  add a doily. This can be ANY kind of doily - stamped, paper, die cut or otherwise so this should be a piece of cake! This is one of my favorite stamp companies, well I decided to enter my card in their 100th challenge. I started off using Tangerine Tango for my base and Basic Black for the inside and I followed the instructions here; http://selmasstampingcorner.blogspot.ca/2012/12/graphic-45-bird-song-card-and-tutorial.html
I added 2 layers of paper using Bird Song collection from Graphic 45. I then cut a strip of basic black and ran it thru Stampin'Up embossing folder called 'Delicate Doilies' and then added some Viva Decor Inka Copper to make it stand out.I also used some paper doilies which I sprayed using Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst spray using Black Orchid Silver. I stamped my doilies using Justrite stamp set called 'Lace Background' onto black glitter paper using Versamark, detailed gold embossing powder, sookwang tape and black glitter by In The Making Enterprises. I then did the same technique using Justrite 'Lace Medallion Labels' for the center. I added a metal flower which I added a coin on top and then used Viva Decor Inka Copper for some highlights. I added some gold & copper flourishes that I cut out using Tim Holtz die called 'Elegant Flourishes' along with a Tim Holtz word band sentiment. I added some red and gold flowers along with gold ribbon by May Arts with another Asian charm.
Here is a close up of the word bands by Tim Holtz.

Loves Rubberstamps Card Challenge - Use a Hoarded Supply Item

Well I'm back with another card for Loves Rubberstamps and this week's challenge is to use a Hoarded Item which I sure we are all guilty of this. I know I love my ribbons and paper which I hoard extensively and every time CHA comes around twice a year, I keep telling myself I don't need anymore paper or ribbon or even more stuff but it's like a sickness, you can never have enough right? I started off using Soft Suede for my base which is a 5"x 7" finished card size. I then used Basic Grey collection called 'Green at Heart' for the rest. I added 3 layers offsetting the last 2 layers. I then cut out Frame, Ornate Oval by Sizzix twice using a purple and stripe paper from the same collection. I placed the stripe frame on top of the purple frame using pop up dots. I printed Pinwheel Birgitte by C.C. Designs Image onto shimmery white paper. I colored her using Prismacolor pencils & added some glitter to the pinwheel. I added some orange & purple rhinestones to the frame and sentiment. I then stamp the sentiment from Whimsy Stamps called 'Fanciful Birthday Notables 1' which you can find here in the store; http://www.lovesrubberstamps.net/category_146/Raindrop-Echo-Designs-Sentiments-Collection.htm using black pigment ink onto shimmery white paper and embossed using gold embossing powder. I then colored the sentiment using Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical using the following colors 'Sweet Violet Purple Teal' and 'Hag's Wart Orange'. I added some light green/blue satin ribbon from May Arts.

I'm back with another inspirational post for Whimsy Stamps and this week I'm using Dana's Digis called the 'Hummingbird'. I printed the Hummingbird onto shimmery white paper and colored her using Prismacolor pencils. I then added glitter to the Hummingbird and added some glitter to he flower. I cut out 2 orange flourishes using orange glitter paper and used Tim Holtz die called 'Elegant Flourishes'. Stamping Dragons - Anything Altered and Cannot be a Card

Well I'm back with another project for Stamping with the Dragons and this week's theme is Anything Altered as long as it's not a card. So here is my first altered canvas using various Golden mediums, sprays, glitters and papers. I started off using some papers from Fab Scraps called Shabby Chic 'Chandelier' and 'Stone Flower'. I tore bits and pieces of paper and adhered them to canvas using Soft Gel Medium by Golden. I heat set it using Ranger's heat gun. I then sprayed the canvas using Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays using Dark Chocolate Truffle and Tiffany Blue. Again took my heat gun to dry it. I then took some white gesso by Golden and laid down a thin coat using my palette knife and heat set. Then decided to add some more dimension so I took out some stencils and some molding paste and added some circles in each of 3 corners and in the 4th corner I used a Butterfly stencil. After letting it dry, I then added some more colour by spraying again using the same colours and letting them drip by tilting the canvas. I decided I needed some background papers for the  Vintage Lady Silhouette to sit on. So I just rip the Shabby Chic 'Chandelier' paper to fit my image and then used Martha Stewart's Circle Edge 'Diamond Lace' punch to punch out a doily using some brown paper. I printed the Vintage Lady Silhouette onto Acetate paper and cut her out. I adhere both papers using Soft Gel medium as well as the Vintage Lady. I then took some white flowers and sprayed them using same the Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays. I then added some Stampin 'Up Designer Fabric Sweet Stitches brads for the centres of the flowers. I then took some chipboard flourishes and added some brushable glue and then sprinkled on some Bronze and Ocean Spray glitter.
