My Son's Birthday Card

This is card that I did for my Son's Birthday Card which is today, Feb 27th. Cameron is 16 years old and he can officially get his driver's license but he doesn't have his learner's yet. I not sure if I would let him drive anyway. He plays Need for Speed too much... I'm also throwing this card plus a couple more in the ring for being on The Heartfelt Creations Design Team. I'm really crossing my fingers because I love their stamps and some of their stamps have dies especially made for them by Spellbinders which is another one of my favorite companies as well.

So Thankful for you

Here is the last card for today. It is card that used a recessed window which you can find the directions at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/results/a4025cca68966f824d52dca171ec72cd/.
Again this card is being submitted to Heartfelt Creations Design Team call. It uses the Fancy Window die, Falling Leaves Diecut from Spellbinders that made it exclusively to Heartfelt Creations. It also uses a number of stamps from the Hearfelt Creations. I should know by March 2, 2011 if I made the semi- finalist. Please keep your fingers cross for me. What do you think ?

Thanks for Looking.
Jackie

Thanks

Here is another called that I did. The stamp is from Heartfelt Creations which they are having an audition for their Design Team which I'm throwing my hand in. The image is colored with Copic markers. I have used a few of the Spellbinders dies plus 2 dies that coordinate with the Heartfelt Creations stamps called Posy Patch Garden Delights which Spellbinders makes. What do you think?  Thanks for looking!

JustRite Friday Challenge 054: Sketch & Sneak Peek!

Here is my card for the JustRite Friday Challenge using the sketch to create a card. I started out with Early Espresso paper then used a light blue metallic paper as the 2nd layer. I cut a stripe of pattern paper from my stash 2" X 4 3/4". For the rectangle I used a Robin's Egg (blue color) metallic paper then used another piece of Early Espresso paper on top. I stamped the saying onto Very Vanilla paper using the set from the JustRite "Nature Nested Sentiments & Verse" using Cocoa pigment ink and embossed with Cocoa Bean EP. I cut it out using the deckled mega rectangle small by Spellbinders. I stamped on the edges using the flourish stamp from the Elements of Style by Stampin'Up using Chestnut Roam Fluid Chalk. Cut out the frame using Early Espresso paper & Heartfelt Creations die called Decorative Window. Color the frame using Molasses Smooch ink. Attached butterfly has shown as well as the 2 blue crystals.

ODBDSLC59 Embedded Embossing

To use embedded embossing, you punch out shapes or cut layers or strips out and then adhere them to your card base piece. Once adhered, place the entire layer in an embossing folder of your choice and emboss both the punched out shapes/layers/strips and the base piece all together. The result looks like seamless embossing … you have just embedded your shapes/layers to the card base. Here is my take on that great technique. I used Early Espresso as my base then took a piece of the new BoBunny 'Gabrielle' collection for my second layer. Then took peach color from the same collection and ran it thru the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder. Using Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk ran it over to highlight the embossed image. Punch out different butterflies using a butterfly punch using different blue papers by Magenta. Cut out another butterfly using blue metallic paper and Bosscut Butterfly diecut. Attach all these cutouts onto blue paper from the Gabrielle collection. I then ran it thru the Square Lattice Embossing Folder by Stampin'Up. I stamped the butterfly from the ODBD Butterfly Single onto colored background that I had made using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I cut it out leaving a little halo. I stamped the saying from the ODBD "Eternity" using Black Versafine inkpad. Cut it out using the Spellbinders "Fancy Tag #3. Sponge the edges using Aquamarine, Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalks.

Lots of Love

This card is entered in a couple card challenges: One is  for The Shabby Tea Room where you had to create a card or project using HEARTS and any additional inspiration from the photo -- colors of pink, green, brown & neutral, doilies, polka dots, flowers, lace, ribbons. The Second is for this week's challenge at Create: blog to create Cards with border punches. Third is for Queen of Hearts challenge for Quietfire Designs. I used Very Vanilla textured paper from Stampin'Up and sponged the edges with Tim Holtz distress inks in Spun Sugar and Shabby Shutters. I then layered a piece of paper from Basic Grey 'Capella' line and sprayed with Vintage Pink and Key Lime from Tattered Angels glimmer mist. Then I sponged Victorian Velvet distress ink on the edges. I took another pattern paper from the same line and again sprayed with the same glimmer mist. I also ran Shabby Shutters over the edges to give it a distress look.I took the paper and along one side used a Martha Stewart punch called Lattice Heart Deep Edge punch.I layered that on top of the lace. I took a heart shape doily and sprayed it with Vintage Pink and Key Lime glimmer mist. On top of the first layer I added a Brushed Gold paper that was punched out using Garden Trellis a Martha Stewart punch. Then I layered green paper punched out using Lace Heart Edge punch from Martha Stewart on top of the gold. Then I wrapped Chantilly lace from Stampin'Up as shown and then took my white ribbon and sprayed with Vintage Pink glimmer mist. Attached it to the lace. On the left hand side I took another lacy ribbon from Maya Arts and layered that over the heart doily. Added a light green from Michael's over top. Cut out a heart using my Cricut machine from the cartridge called 'Love Struck' using My Mind's Eye 'Lush Pink Damask Paper as the base and using a piece from Basic Grey for the top which I sprayed Vintage Pink glimmer mist. The lady is an image from Tweety Jill Collection - Vintage Valentines and layered on spritz heart doily. The banner was cut out using my Cricut machine from the cartridge Reminisce Accents using Basic Grey 'Capella' and sponging green and pink distress inks. I stamped Lots of Love from Hero Arts using black pigment ink and black embossing powder.
