Mojo Monday 216

It's Monday again and that means it's time for a new Mojo Monday sketch! It is my Dad's birthday on Tuesday Nov.29th which he will be a young 74 who still manages to play hockey 3 times a week. So I combined his card with Mojo Monday sketch. I started off with a finished card size of 5"x 7". I used bronze metallic paper for the base and used Stampin'Up Mocha Morning Specialty paper for the rest. Strips of paper were cut to the size of 1 1/2" x 3 1/2". I cut black flocking paper by using Heartfelt Creations Decorative Lace border die and laid this on top of brown flourish paper. I add a brownish blue ribbon that I found in Michael's on top before I taped it down. I added the strips of paper using the same collection. On strip #1 I added a brown tag cut from Spellbinders Fancy Tag #1 and then added saying using Stampin'Up 'Well Scripted'. I stamped the saying using Tsukineko newest ink called Delicata 'Golden Glitz' and embossed using Glorious Gold by Stampin'Up. I cut this out using Stampin'Up scalloped circle. The second strip I stamped the dog from the set called "For Father" using Coffee Archival ink and used watercolor pencils to color the image. I cut out the image using Spellbinders 'Lacey Circles'. I cut out another circle using Spellbinders 'Beaded Circles' and using bronze metallic paper. On the third strip I cut out a flourish using Memory Box dies called 'Amira Flourish' using the black flocking paper from the same collection and top of that I cut out a mini rosette using Tim Holtz die called 'Mini Rosette'.

ODBDSLC85 Baubles, Bells, or Anything hanging

This week's challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs is Baubles, Bells or Anything hanging!! Here is my card which is a finished size of 5"x 7". I started out using light gold metallic paper by Stardream. Then I used Anna Griffin Paper AG1545 and then used Penny Black's Filigree Gold Foil paper for the second layer. I the took a piece of Shimmery White paper by Stampin'Up and ran it thru a Sizzix folder called Frames: Heart & Vines. I painted the frame by using Champagne Mist Shimmer paint by Stampin'Up and a dauber. I then used a Quickie Glue pen and used the following glitter: Harvest Gold and Rose Copper Glitter Ritz by In The Making Enterprises to glitter the embossed scroll work.I layered this all together by using white ribbon by May Arts and gold stripe ribbon by Michael's before attaching to the base card. I stamped the ornament using the set called "Ornament" by ODBD using Coffee Archival ink by Ranger. I colored the ornament by using Derwent Watercolor pencils and using an aqua painter to smooth out coloring. Then I painted the ornament using Champagne Mist Shimmer paint by Stampin'Up and a dauber. I stamped sentiment from the set called "Christmas Verses" by ODBD using Coffee Archival ink by Ranger. I punched it out using EK Success punch called 'Journalling punch' then I punched out 2 labels using Sand Glitter paper by Best Creations. I cut 1 label lengthwise and the other vertical to mat my sentiment.

November 2011 Friends of WMS Blog Waltz

This is my first time I have done a blog hop for Waltzingmouse Stamps! Our theme for the Waltz  this month is Winter/Christmas! My favorite time of the year! My Mother already has her Christmas decorations up because I spent the day helping her. I started off with a 5"x 7" finished card size. My base is Certain Celery by Stampin'Up and I used the Decorative Band -Foil from the Little Yellow Bicycle "The Sharon Ann's Christmas Magic Collection" for the second layer. I cut this 4 3/4"x 6 3/4". For the next layer I cut the "Snowfall" from the same collection to fit inside the red layer so it would be frame by the foil bottom. I cut out the doily using the "Medallion-Foil" using the Doily die called "English Tea Doily" by Cheery Lynn Designs. I then cut out Lacey Square by Spellbinders  using grungepaper by Tim Holtz. Then cut out a red Lacey Square by the same die. I stamped "Good Old Fashioned Christmas" by Waltzingmouse Stamps using black Crafter's ink by Clearsnap and Ranger's Adirondack Embossing Powder "Moss". I colored in the image using Clearsnap Smooch ink using the following colors Siren, Gold Lame and Kiwi. I then stamped the medium Poinsettia twice from the set called "Big Bloom Poinsettia" by Waltzingmouse Stamps using black Crafter's ink by Clearsnap and clear EP. I colored the Poinsettia using US ArtQuest Stargazers Watercolor Palette. I layered one Poinsettia on top of the other using pop up dots. I added basic pearls for the center of the Poinsettia by Stampin'Up. I added Fabric stickers borders from the same collection on the red paper at the bottom and added light green metallic ribbon by Michael's on top. I added photo corners from the package of Thickers Tinsel Accents by American Crafts as shown. Here is a picture of the inside of the card.
