A Jump on Christmas

I started making this card for Our Daily Bread Designs challenge but somehow the missed the deadline to upload my card. The challenge was to use any favorite ODBD stamps. I like this stamp because it coordinates with Spellbinder's Heirloom Ornament so it is easy to cut out. Let's face it I like any stamps who coordinate with Spellbinder's dies it makes me feel like I'm getting more bang for  my buck! It is a fairly simple card not a lot of detail for me. It's 5" X 7" finished card size. I used Shimmery White paper and then I used a soft gold metallic paper and ran it thru a 5" X 7" Cuttlebug folder called Brocade Window.  I applied Champagne Mist Shimmer paint to cover the raised embossed area. Inside the window I ran another piece of Shimmery White paper thru another folder called Swiss Dots. I stamped the smallest ornament from ODBD from the set called "Ornaments" using gold pigment ink and embossed using detail gold embossing powder. I used US Artquest Jewelz watercolor palette called "Duo & Interference to color the ornament. I cut & embossed using the Spellbinder's Heirloom Ornament. Punched a hole on top of the ornament and tied a bow using gold metallic ribbon from my stash. I stamped saying from the same set using black versafine and cut it out using Spellbinder's Fancy Tags #2.

It's Official !!!

It's true I'm officially certified as a Intermediate Copic Designer. This past weekend I was in Calgary, Alberta taking my 2nd Level certification with Sherrie Siemens who is a wonderful instructor. It was a challenge to find the place but it was worth it. I met a lot of fantastic people who love copic markers as much I do. We were the first class in all of Canada to be certified as Intermediate Copic Designers. Yeah!!!

ODBD SLC 63- Sentiment Only Challenge

Here is another card using Our Daily Bread Designs sentiment only challenge. I used Early Espresso for the base, Lush 'Brown Diamonds' from My Mind's Eye paper collection for the second layer. For the third layer I used another piece of paper from the collection called "Natural - My Boy". I used the Tasteful Trim die to cut out the 2 scallop edges out light green and brown glitter paper. I made my own background paper for the sentiment by taking a Magenta stamp C22056-0 inking with Olive Pastel Fluid Chalk and stamping on the shimmery white paper until there was no more ink on the stamp. I did this with Chestnut Roan as well then I went back in a sponge in the same colors with a white foam tip for each color a technique I learned from Cathie Allan. Then I took the Magenta stamp using black pigment ink, stamped on colored background paper that I just made and embossed with black EP. I cut and embossed it by using Spellbinders Label # 9. Applied Molasses Smooch ink around the raised embossed rim. I stamped saying using black pigment ink from the set Tulip Tag  from Our Daily Bread Designs using Shimmery White paper. Embossed using black embossing powder. Cut it out using Spellbinders Classic Circle Lg and again sponged Ice Jade and Chestnut Roan to tone down the white. Applied Molasses Smooch ink around the raised embossed rim. I cut out the Italian Flourish doily using Chartreuse metallic cardstock and laid this under my sentiment. Before attaching all this to the base of the card I laid down Maya Arts brown ruffled satin ribbon and then Crochet ribbon on top. Tied a double bow using the Bow Easy and Early Espresso satin ribbon.
