The challenge: Design a card based on this fabulous sketch and use “Back to _______” as your theme (sketch by Anam Stubbington). You get to fill in the blank! Here my take on the sketch, mine is to say "Back to Jasper" We started going to Jasper when my son was 5 years old and pretty much every year we went to Jasper to see all tourist attractions because my husband really loved the mountains. We also didn't have a lot of money at the time too. Anyways my husband lost his battle to Cancer three years ago and now it was time to do something with his ashes. After 5 years which I haven't been able to go to Jasper because of the difficult memories. So in my heart I knew I had to go to Jasper with my son who is 16 now and Sarah (Dog) to spread his ashes at Athabasca Falls where we had gone so many times before. So I started out using bronze metallic paper then I used Lost & Found Two 'Boyish' Plaid paper by My Mind's Eye and distressed the edges using the Distressing tool. I inked up the edges using Chestnut Roan Fluid Chalk by Clearsnap. I then did the same with the following paper Lost & Found Two 'Fun Day' by My Mind's Eye and using Deep Lagoon Fluid Chalk by Clearsnap on the distressed edges. I then cut out a scallop circle using the largest Spellbinders 'Grand Scallop Circle' die and using My Mind's Eye Lush 'Brown Diamonds' paper. I cut out the letters 'Jasper' by using Lifestyle Crafts Alphabet called 'English Rose' out some blue paper that I found in my stash. I cut out the Flourishes using brown, blue glitter paper by American Crafts using the Tim Holtz die called 'Elegant Flourishes'. I used Tim Holtz 'Type Charms' to spell out "Back To". I cut out 2 roses using the new Spellbinders die called 'Spiral Blossom one' using the same blue paper that I cut out the letters. I also used resin flower from the Cabachon collection by Prima Marketing as shown. I added some Glue Gloss by Clearsnap and dusted them using Donna Salazar's 'Fairy Dust Glitter Mixed Berries' I used Lost & Found Two layered stickers pennants for the date at the bottom. I cut a rosette using Tim Holtz die called 'Rosette' using My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Two 'Precious' Motif paper and added layered chipboard from the same collection for the middle. I added blue pearls by Prima Marketing as shown.

JustRite Friday Challenge 057: Frugal Friday
For this week’s challenge, we want to see your inexpensive/frugal gift ideas (anything but a card), using something you have recycled and reused from around your house. We'd like to see you repurpose a 3D item and turn it into a fabulous gift or gift packaging, using your JustRite stamps! I used an old Q-tips box and turned it into a gift box with homemade tags for presents. I used Stampin'Up 'Letters to Santa' designer series paper for all my paper needs plus the addition of brown, green, blue, gold, pink and white glitter paper by American Crafts. I used the following stamps 'Charmed', 'Charming Christmas', 'Merry and Bright' and 'Deck the Halls' all by JustRite Stampers. I stamped sentiments using black archival ink by Ranger. Some of the images were stamped using black pigment ink and emboss using black embossing powder, others were just stamped using Warm Red, Azurite Fluid Chalk by Clearsnap all were stamped on shimmery white paper by Stampin'Up. I used 1/8th Taffeta ribbon in the following colors: Night of Navy, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight and Pretty in Pink for the ties. For the outside of the box I used the Nested Poinsettia Die by Spellbinders for the first Poinsettia and the second was from Prima Marketing and the leaves were from Recollections by Michael's. I cut out the elegant flourishes using Tim Holtz die using White glitter paper.

I stamped saying from the set called 'Full of Grace - Faith' by ODBD using black pigment ink by Clearsnap and emboss using detail black by Ranger on shimmery white paper. Then I used the following colors: Island Indigo, Soft Suede, Summer Sun and Concord Crush by Stampin'Up to tone down the white paper. I cut out the sentiment using Spellbinders 'Lacey Circles'. Then I cut out 3rd largest die (Lacey Circle) out of Crumb Cake laid over the saying and then cut out the largest die using the same die out of Island Indigo. I then ran 1/4" Daffodil Delight taffeta ribbon thru the Lacey Circle as shown. I used the lace ribbon border punch by Stampin'Up to punch out a strip of Certain Celery Designer Series paper and ran 1/4" Early Espresso taffeta ribbon thru it as shown. I stamped 'Spring Bouquet' by Flourishes using black craft's ink by Clearsnap and heat set so it would be permanent. JustRite Friday Challenge 057: Shabby Chic!
Wikipedia defines Shabby Chic as a form of design where objects are either chosen for their age and signs of wear and tear or new items which are distressed to achieve the appearance of an antique. So in terms of paper crafting and stamping:think distress inks, sponging, painting, collage/mixing different elements and/or stamp sets, feminine lace and papers with a worn fabric look. So here is my card.
Finished card size is 5" X 7". I used Soft Suede for the base then used Stampin'Up 'Beau Chateau' Designer Series Paper for the rest. I cut out the frame from one of the Beau Chateau DSP papers. I added some Champagne Mist Shimmery paint mixed with a drop of Soft Suede reinker to the scroll work of the frame. I add another piece of DSP to the middle of frame. Then I stamped an oval frame from the set called 'Vintage Oval Labels' by JustRite using black pigment ink by Clearsnap and embossed using Antique Gold Embossing Powder by Ranger. Colored vintage frame using Stampin'Up markers in the following colors; Pink Pirouette and Marina Mist. The sentiment was from the set called 'Signs of Life' by JustRite using black pigment ink and embossed using Ranger's detail black EP. I cut out post by using Soft Suede paper and the Spellbinders 'Elegant Post' die and sponged Soft Suede over it. Attached the frame using gold thread. Cut out 2 lattice using Stampin'Up Lattice die plus the envelope. I distressed all edges using Pink Pirouette, Marina Mist and Soft Suede. Added pink lace ribbon by Maya Arts and then laid another vintage lace over top. Add 3 side notes from the collection 'Beau Chateau' by Stampin'Up again distressing the edges.
