Week #99 - 'Love is in the Air'
and Char asks that you create a VALENTINE'S DAY card or project inspired by the COLORS IN THE INSPIRATION PHOTO and WITH A MAIL OR POSTAGE ELEMENT! So here is my card for the challenge, I used black metallic paper which has a finished size of 5"x 7". I then added paper from the Basic Grey collection called 'Bittersweet" for the second layer. Then I took a paper heart doily from Michael's and colored it using Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals that I used as a color wash over the doily. I then laid down some white crochet lace ribbon by May Arts and then used Cherry Cobbler pleated satin ribbon on top. I then cut out a paper heart using white metallic paper and a Cheery Lynn design called 'Heart to Heart Doily Die'. I then made backgrounds on my tags using a technique called 'Wrinkle Free Distress' by Tim Holtz using Tattered Rose, Black Soot, Frayed Burlap, Victorian Velvet distress ink pads. I then stamped the following images (heart, Post Card and the Paris College) from the stamp sets by Tim Holtz Artistic College and Urban Chic using Black Archival ink by Ranger. I added more ink around the edges and on the images itself and then used a fine mist to produce fine water droplets to activate the ink so it would wick out. I then colored some of images using Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals in pinks and reds.I laid one tag inside the white heart die cut and the other is laid on top. I then used Ranger's Foil tape sheets and ran it thru a cuttlebug folder called 'Love is in the Air'. I then took some Tim Holtz alcohol inks using Pitch Black and Red Pepper with Blending Solution and inked up the foil sheet using a polish stone technique. I used double pop up dots so that the second tag would fit underneath. I stamped 'Happy Valentine's Day' using stamp set 'You Are Loved' by Stampin'Up using black pigment ink and black EP onto another tag using the same technique. It was cut out by Spellbinders 'Fancy Tags One'. I added some Plum Spice Smooch Glitz by Clearsnap onto the edges of the cut out. I cut out some hearts using red metal sheets by Ten Second Studio again using the Cheery Lynn die (It has 3 dies that cut out different shapes) and I laid them on double sided adhesive paper and used Cranberry and Hot Lips Glitter Ritz by In The Making Enterprises in between all those hearts that were cut out. I saved the red metallic hearts and used some of them where shown.
