For this challenge we were asked to make a summertime card. As a kid growing up, my mother had a rose garden which she grew all her hybrid tea roses which smelled so heavenly when she would cut them and bring them into the house. So this card reminds me of those roses. I started off using Pretty in Pink paper which is a 5" X 7" finished card size. I then used Anna Griffin 'Carolina Collection' for the rest of my papers. For the first layer I used a patchwork paper and on top of that used green lattice paper that I ran thru a Stampin' Up folder called 'Fancy Fan' embossing folder. Then I cut out the Pretty in Pink paper using Spellbinders 'Curved Rectangles' and added a smaller one using a Roses paper from the collection. Then I cut out another rectangle using yellow paper using Spellbinders 'Lattice Rectangle' and added a smaller one as well using the rose paper. I stamped the roses and leaves from the set called "I love Roses" by Flourishes using black crafter's ink by Clearsnap. I coloured the roses and leaves using Prismacolor pencils. I also stamped the saying from the set called 'Thank You Tabs 1" by Whimsy Stamps using black pigment ink and embossed it using clear embossing powder. I cut out the blue pennants from Spellbinders 'Nested Pennants'. I add some blue/green duo satin ribbon by May Arts using one side blue and the other green as shown . I used Stampin' Up Eyelet border to make the blue and yellow border. I added some basic pearls as shown.
I have entered this card in the following Flourishes Challenge: It's Sketchy!! Getting a chance to win Flourishes July Release is as simple as sketching it all out — that’s right — it’s a sketch challenge!
Wow... Vibrant and beautifully done. Thanks for playing in Flourishes Sketch challenge.
ReplyDeleteHi Jacqueline, thanks for your comment. Love this card as I just love any flowers and making them. So this appeals to me greatly. I have joined your blog as a new member, you may like to join me as well. Yes, my choc lab is the best. She's outside at the moment sulking as it's been wet and don't want her inside so she throws a little tanty...like a child. Golden labs are beautiful as they all are...luv annie
