In the Christmas Spirit!

Create a Christmas card with Santa in mind. Use St. Nicolas’s image, presents, anything that has a little Santa flair! Here is my card for the challenge. I started with a 5"x 7" finished card size. I used Early Espresso for the base and I used Bo Bunny's Noel Tradition for the second layer. Then I used Noel Ornaments by Bo Bunny using the top portion of the paper (because it had branches and ornaments hanging already) for the third layer to give my card a base to work with. I borrowed Kittie Caracciolo's idea http://kittiekraft.typepad.com/kittiekraft/page/3/ as a theme for this card. Don't you just love her work!! I think she really amazing if I only had her talent! I then used Tim Holtz's Tattered Pinecone die to cut out a pine branch that I use for my base. I then punched out little pine branches using McGill's Pine punch using various colors of paper. Using mini glue dots I layered the pine branches over top of each other and on the bigger pine branches. I made an ornament using Spellbinders 'Postage Die' using gold glitter paper. For the inside of the ornament, I ran a piece of shimmery white paper by Stampin'Up and ran it thru the embossing folder 'Square Lattice' also by Stampin'Up. I attached this to the gold postage cutout. I stamped Santa using black Memento ink from the set called 'Holiday Sparkle' by Flourishes and coloring him with my Copic markers. I used the following markers R24, R27, R29, R59, C00,C02,C04,C07, E11, E31, E50, G21, G28 and G99. I add sparkle to the fur, beard using a Quickie Glue pen to add glue and then used Warm Highlight Glitter Ritz by In The Making Enterprises. I cut Santa out with scissors and mounted him on the Ornament after I laid some Tim Holtz's pine branches down to add depth. Then I added more pine branches by using the McGill's punch and carefully laying it over the bottom of Santa. I weaved in some Calypso Coral Organdy ribbon around the bottom of the ornament. I stamped sentiment from the set called 'Sentimental Christmas' by Flourishes using black crafter's ink and using gold EP by Clearsnap. Punched sentiment out using 1 3/4" circle and mounted it on a Amira Flourish by Memory Box Dies using gold glitter paper. I added yellow rhinestones where shown. I punch out red berries using 1/4" hole punch and red paper. Then I added red stickles to them to add some bling!

UPDATE:  I won a Stamp Set for this challenge. Thanks Flourishes for the free set!!!
